  Comedian and talk show host, Chinedu Ani, a.k.a Nedu, has reacted to allegations of domestic violence levelled against him by his ex-wife, Uzoamaka Ohiri. In a post on Instagram on Saturday, Nedu said he never assaulted his ex-wife during their marriage, adding that she was unfaithful during the relationship and brought an illegitimate child home. “Our marriage was one plagued with a lot of issues.   A security personnel with the Benue state university, Makurdi allegedly rape and impregnate a 11-year-old girl. The man identified as Joseph Adoyi is the husband to Ene’s aunt. He constantly abuse the victim sexually until she became pregnant. According to Ukan Kurugh, a activist who shared the story, the man started abusing to girl since she was 3 years old. He said the man warned the little girl not to open up to anyone about the abuse, he warned that if she does, he would kill her. Robbers Attack Diete Koki Memorial Hospital In Bayelsa; Rob Patients, Doctors

  Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers raided Diete Koki Memorial Hospital in Bayelsa and carted away cash and valuables belonging to patients and doctors on duty.   It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the hospital located along Opolo Road in Yenagoa, the state capital, in the early hours of Tuesday, August 31.   Catholic Prayers The suspected robbers were alleged to have broken into the hospital from the fence behind. One of the Doctors on duty, Dr Okeleghel Awudumapu, told journalists that the robbery gang attacked while he was returning from his call room. Dr Awudumapu said his belongings and that of patients from the labour ward and that of their family members were all carted away. The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Emmanuel Fetepigi, described the act as barbaric. Bandits Release 32 Bethel Baptist Students After Ransom Was Paid, 31 Still Held

  Thirty-two of the remaining sixty-three abducted students of Bethel Baptist High school, Damishi, in Nigeria’s northern Kaduna state have been released from captivity. The chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna state chapter, Joseph Hayab confirmed this to ARISE News. He said the students were released Friday evening and have reunited with their parents. An undisclosed sum of money was paid before their release. The remaining students still In captivity are now thirty-one.

The suspect, a secondary school teacher who has been arrested by detectives at Fagun Divisional Police station in Ondo town has however denied the allegation. Gunmen attack bullion van in Ore, kills driver, policeman

  The Police Command in Ondo has confirmed the attack on a bullion van in Ore by gunmen. The police also confirmed the killing of the bullion van driver and a policeman during the attack. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the attack occured on Wednesday evening in the Costain axis of the commercial town of Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state. NAN recalls that the attack occured barely two weeks after a bullion van was also attacked in the Emure-Ile axis of the state by suspected armed robbers. According to an eye witness: “The dare-devil armed robbers opened fire on the bullion van which was carrying an undisclosed amount of money and the police escort car. “The bullion van driver and a policeman were shot dead in the process while the undisclosed amount of money in the bullion van was carted away by the gunmen after the attack.” Confirming the incident to NAN on phone, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami, said that the police are on the trail of the assailants. Kano seals four illegal private clinics

  The Kano State Government has shut an illegal private health facility, Kabir Global Clinic, at Rimi village, in the Sumaila Local Government Area of the state. A statement by the Executive Secretary, Private Health Institutions Management Agency, Dr Usman Aliyu, on Wednesday, said the clinic was discovered during ongoing supervisions of private health facilities in the state. The statement noted that three other clinics, Habeeba Salam Clinic in Garko LGA, Gidan Ruwa Clinic in Wudil LGA, and Ali Alkali Clinic in Takai LGA,  were found to be conducting surgeries without the minimum number of professional personnel required ranging from doctors to nurses, which led to the closure of the facilities until proper and adequate recruitment was conducted. Torture: Widow demands N500m from police for husband’s death

  Altine, the widow of 33-year-old Dauda Danladi who was allegedly tortured to death by the police, has slammed a suit against the Nigeria Police Force before the Federal High Court, Bauchi, demanding N500m as damages. Our correspondent had reported that Dauda was arrested by a team of operatives in front of his shop at Yelwa Tsakani, a suburb of the Bauchi metropolis, around 9pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was taken to the Yelwa Police Division, where he was allegedly tortured to death. But the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil, in a statement, claimed that a patrol team went to the area to arrest some suspects and saw Dauda lying in front of his shop and gasping for breath. Retired matron jailed for buying boy N50,000, selling him N200,000

  The Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo has sentenced a 47-year-old woman, Gertrude Akpan, to 10 years’ imprisonment for trafficking in children. The convict was said to have bought a six-year-old boy in Uyo and taken him to Owerri, Imo State, where she sold the victim to one Kate Ogbonna. The court, presided over by Justice Okon Okon, found Akpan guilty and jailed her without an option of fine. Akpan, a mother of three, hails from Ikot Eyo in the Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The newly appointed Director Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Benjamin Sawyerr, has solicited the support of the Nigerian media in projecting the image of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) positively. Sawyerr made the call when he paid a familiarisation visit to the Voice of Nigeria (VON) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
